What began as a lifelong love of flowers has grown into a new chapter for our family. After more than 20 years in the wedding and events industry—designing, creating, and bringing floral visions to life—we felt a pull back to something simpler, more personal, and more rooted in the land.
Nestled in rural Virginia, our family-owned flower farm is the result of that shift. We traded fast-paced event schedules for early mornings in the field, seasonal rhythms, and the joy of growing flowers from seed to stem. Every bloom we offer is carefully cultivated right here on our farm, with a focus on freshness, sustainability, and natural beauty.
We believe flowers should tell a story—of place, of season, and of the hands that grew them. By focusing on locally grown, thoughtfully harvested blooms, we’re able to provide flowers that are not only beautiful, but meaningful and connected to our community.
This is more than a business for us—it’s a return to our roots, a way to share what we love, and an invitation for you to bring a little piece of our farm into your home. Be sure to check out our kids' wildflower garden, Sophie's Garden, in remembrance of our Great Dane Sophie. She could be found daily beside you laying in the flowers while you worked enjoying the sunshine.

Our mission is to grow more than just flowers—we’re here to cultivate connection, creativity, and community.

Our mission is to grow more than just flowers—we’re here to cultivate connection, creativity, and community.
As a family-owned flower farm in rural Virginia, we are committed to providing fresh, locally grown blooms that celebrate the beauty of each season. Through our u-pick fields, we invite our community to slow down, step into nature, and experience the simple joy of harvesting flowers by hand.
We believe in sharing what we’ve learned over decades in the floral and events industry by offering workshops that inspire creativity and deepen an appreciation for the art of floral design. At the same time, we are passionate about fostering a greater understanding of sustainable growing practices and the environmental importance of supporting local agriculture.
Whether you’re visiting the farm, creating your own bouquet, or learning something new, our goal is to create meaningful experiences that connect people—to flowers, to the land, and to each other.

Black Horse Farm is proudly owned and operated by the Anderson family, whose shared passion for flowers and community is at the heart of everything we do.
At the center of the farm is mother-daughter duo Kristi and Aralyn, whose love of flowers has grown into a lifelong pursuit. Aralyn brings that passion to the fields each day, carefully tending and cultivating the blooms that fill our farm with color and life. Kristi, drawing on her many years of experience in the wedding and events industry, leads the creative vision behind our workshops and on-farm experiences, helping others discover the beauty and artistry of floral design.
Kristi also brings another longtime passion to the farm—baking. In our bakery shed, she shares her homemade, seasonal baked goods, adding another layer of warmth and hospitality to the Black Horse Farm experience.
It truly is a family effort. With help of their Aunt, sons Noah and Ethan help bring energy and fun to the farm by running our food trailer, where guests can enjoy Lapp Valley Farm Amish ice cream and refreshing fresh-squeezed lemonade.
Together, our family is dedicated to creating a welcoming, memorable place where flowers, food, and community come together.
